This policy explains the information processed through Asurela, why it is used, who may receive it, and the choices available to you. It covers our website, demos, conversational shopping tools, and related support services.
1. Who this policy applies to
Asurela provides AI sales and design tools for merchants and their customers. For our website, demo inquiries, and direct business relationships, Asurela determines how information is used. You can contact us at hello@asurela.com.
When you interact with a merchant through Asurela, that merchant may determine the purposes for which your customer information is processed, and we may process it on the merchant’s behalf. The merchant’s own privacy notice also applies. Contact the merchant about its sales, marketing, or customer records; we can help route requests involving our platform.
2. Information we collect
The information processed depends on the features you use. It may include information you provide directly, information supplied by a participating merchant, and technical information generated while the service operates.
- Contact and business details, such as your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, company name, website, and demo or support requests.
- Conversation content, shopping preferences, product selections, quote requests, and details shared with the AI assistant or a human sales representative.
- Uploaded photographs of rooms or products, design instructions, and generated images or other outputs. Photographs can contain personal details about your home or other people.
- Merchant catalog information, including product descriptions, prices, images, and business details imported from a website submitted for a demo or supplied through an integration.
- Technical and usage information, such as IP addresses, browser and device information, session identifiers, request timing, errors, and service logs. Diagnostic traces may include prompts, conversation content, uploaded images, and AI outputs.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide requested demos, import catalogs, maintain conversations, recommend products, generate visualizations, prepare quote requests, and connect customers with a merchant’s sales team. We also use it to answer inquiries, send requested results or service communications, investigate errors, evaluate service quality, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to perform a contract or take steps you request before a contract, meet a legal obligation, pursue legitimate interests such as securing and operating the service, or act on your consent. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting prior lawful processing.
4. AI processing and human access
Asurela uses third-party AI services, including OpenAI or Google depending on the feature and configuration, to process relevant messages, catalog content, and images and generate responses. AI processing can produce inaccurate or unexpected results. Avoid submitting passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, or other sensitive information that is not needed for your request.
Authorized merchant staff can review conversations associated with their store and take over from the assistant. Authorized service and support personnel may also review relevant records or diagnostic traces to investigate issues and evaluate the service. Provider handling of submitted data depends on the applicable service terms and configuration; this policy does not promise that every integration uses identical retention or model-training settings.
6. Cookies and browser storage
The website uses cookies or similar storage for functions such as language preferences, appearance settings, conversation continuity, and restoring demo progress. Security services such as Cloudflare Turnstile may process browser and device signals to detect automated abuse.
You can manage cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Doing so may reset preferences or interrupt access to an existing conversation or demo. Clearing browser storage does not delete records already held by Asurela or a merchant; use the request process below for those records. Where optional tracking requires consent, that consent must be obtained separately.
7. Retention, security, and international processing
Retention depends on the type of record, the merchant’s instructions, the feature used, and operational or legal requirements. Contact details, conversations, media, and diagnostic records may be retained for different periods. Information is retained as needed to provide services, address support or disputes, protect the service, and meet applicable obligations. Ask us for information about the records associated with your use of Asurela.
Deletion can be subject to legal preservation requirements and backup retention cycles. We use safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Asurela and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own, whose privacy laws may differ. Where required, international processing is subject to the safeguards or transfer mechanisms required by applicable law.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data-protection authority. In Mexico, these may include rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition (ARCO), as well as withdrawal of consent where applicable.
Send requests to hello@asurela.com with the subject ‘Privacy request’. Describe your request and provide the email, phone number, store, or conversation details needed to locate the relevant records. Do not send identity documents unless we request a proportionate verification method. We may need to verify your identity or authority and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some requests must be handled by the merchant responsible for the data.
You can ask us to stop promotional communications through the same address or use an unsubscribe option where provided. Necessary service messages may still be sent.
9. Children’s information
Asurela’s business and shopping services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. Do not submit children’s personal information or photographs without the necessary authority and permissions. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before applying a material change.
